Kieppi sawmill

Wood has been sawn on the shore of Kiepinsalmi in Mäntyharju since 1927. In 1969 the Kieppi sawmill became Finland’s first bandsawmill. As a result of major investments made during the 1990s all the sawmill’s operations – the log sorting plant, the sawing line, the edging plant, drying kilns, the trimming and grading line, and the packing plant have been completely modernised, so that a state-of-the-art sawmill now operates on the shore of Kiepinsalmi.
The Kieppi sawmill produces high quality sawn and planed redwood, most of which is exported.
